We have an exciting opportunity within the Brilliant Travel Division- we are pleased to announce a vacancy for a Business Development Manager


Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a key role in driving the growth, performance, and engagement of Managed Service Travel Partners (MSTPs) within the Brilliant Travel Division.

This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, managing, and developing MSTPs, ensuring strong commercial performance and alignment with Barrhead Travel’s wider strategic objectives. The BDM acts as the primary relationship owner for their portfolio, supporting partners to build sustainable and successful travel businesses while maximising revenue and growth across the network.


Skills & Experience


· Strong knowledge of the travel industry, including retail, homeworking, or consortia models

· Proven experience in business development, sales, or account/account management

· Strong track record of achieving revenue and commercial targets

· Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills

· Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management ability

· Commercially focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Experience interpreting performance data and turning insights into action

· Highly organised with strong time management skills

· Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/business systems


Duties & Responsibilities


Recruitment & Growth – to work alongside the Onboarding & Training Manager:

· Identify, recruit, and onboard new MSTPs

· Convert leads and generate referrals through existing partners

· Build and maintain a strong recruitment pipeline

· Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities


Partner Management


· Manage and support a portfolio of MSTPs

· Build strong, trusted relationships with business owners

· Maintain regular communication and engagement


Commercial Performance


· Drive revenue growth and partner performance

· Identify opportunities to increase sales and productivity

· Conduct regular business reviews and agree action plans

· Monitor KPIs and performance targets


Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement


· Align MSTPs with wider business strategy including exclusive products

· Work closely with internal teams to support partner success

· Contribute insights to support business planning and decision-making


Market Insight & Reporting


· Monitor competitor activity and industry trends

· Provide regular performance reports


Requirements


· Proven experience within the travel industry

· Demonstrable success in a business development, sales, or account management role

· Strong commercial awareness and results-driven mindset

· Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels

· Excellent organisational and time management skills

· Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

· Willingness to travel for meetings, events, and partner engagement including overseas conferences

· Professional, proactive, and adaptable approach

· Full clean driving license and willing to travel throughout the UK
