Job Description

Modular Delivery Engineer/Project Engineer

We are seeking a Modular Delivery Engineer to join a growing team focused on delivering innovative modular and DfMA solutions across complex construction projects.

This role plays a key part throughout the project lifecycle, supporting both bid-stage activities and live project delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, assessing and optimizing modular MEP solutions that enhance efficiency, buildability, sustainability and overall project value.

Working across multiple projects simultaneously, you will collaborate closely with design teams, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of modular strategies from concept through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to pre-construction, design and bid teams.
  • Review project documentation, drawings, reports and specifications to identify modularization opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs to clarify project requirements and reduce design ambiguity.
  • Develop modular construction strategies aligned with project constraints, programme requirements and client objectives.
  • Collaborate with estimating teams to develop cost-effective modular solutions.
  • Challenge traditional construction approaches and introduce innovative DfMA methodologies.
  • Review and contribute to architectural, structural and MEP designs to maximise modular integration.
  • Support the development and review of modular framework and module designs.
  • Produce technical submissions and supporting documentation for approvals and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate structural analysis information and review engineering outputs.
  • Assess steelwork requirements, material availability and cost implications during design development.
  • Review turnkey package designs to ensure alignment with modular delivery principles.
  • Manage interfaces between design, manufacturing and installation teams.
  • Support installation activities and ensure compliance with structural verification requirements.
  • Capture and share lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across future projects.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience delivering modular construction, DfMA or prefabrication solutions.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and their interaction with structural and architectural elements.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto or similar model review software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of sustainable design principles.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team at the forefront of modular construction, helping shape the delivery of complex projects through innovative engineering and DfMA solutions.
