Business Solutions Architect - Permanent - Hybrid
Bestman Solutions is working with a buy-side organisation who are undertaking a multi-year transformation programme.
You will play a central role in a large-scale transformation programme, working across business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, engineering, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
You will be defining future-state architecture, translating complex business requirements into practical solutions, and driving delivery across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own end-to-end solution architectures across strategic transformation initiatives
- Translate business objectives, operational requirements, and technical constraints into scalable solution designs
- Bridge the gap between business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, and engineering teams
- Lead requirements discovery, impact assessments, and solution definition activities
- Shape delivery roadmaps and support programme planning across multiple initiatives
- Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, platform, and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation
- Lead proof-of-concepts, technical evaluations, and solution validation activities
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance where required, particularly within Java-based environments
- Present recommendations and architectural decisions to senior stakeholders
- Ensure solutions align with governance, risk, regulatory, and operational resilience requirements
What You'll Bring
Essential Experience
- Proven experience delivering complex technology transformation programmes
- Strong background spanning solution architecture, business analysis, and project or programme delivery
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale systems across the full lifecycle
- Strong understanding of Java and object-oriented design principles
- Experience working with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience balancing strategic architecture with practical delivery considerations
Desirable Experience
- Microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Containerisation technologies, including OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Database design and integration (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar)
- Financial services, market infrastructure, or other highly regulated environments
