About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and adaptable Business Analyst to join a growing consultancy delivering digital transformation, technology deployment, and business change programmes across the utilities sector.
This is an opportunity to work on a variety of client-facing projects, helping organisations understand business challenges, define requirements, and support the successful implementation of technology and digital solutions. The role will involve working closely with clients, project managers, product teams, and technical specialists to ensure solutions are delivered effectively and provide measurable business value.
While experience within utilities, energy, or infrastructure environments would be highly beneficial, we are equally interested in candidates who have worked on digital transformation or technology deployment projects in adjacent sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with clients and project teams.
- Gather, analyse, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Map and review existing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support the deployment and adoption of digital products and technology solutions.
- Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, process maps, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Work closely with project managers, product teams, and technical specialists throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support testing, user acceptance activities, and change adoption initiatives.
- Assist clients in defining business cases, benefits, and success measures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery methodologies and best practices.
Experience & Skills Required
- Previous experience working as a Business Analyst within digital, technology, transformation, or change programmes.
- Experience supporting the implementation or deployment of software, digital platforms, or technology solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to build credibility quickly with clients and project teams.
- Experience facilitating workshops and gathering requirements from a range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience producing business analysis artefacts such as process maps, user stories, requirements documents, and gap analyses.
- Comfortable working across multiple projects in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
- A proactive, positive, and energetic approach with a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
Desirable Experience
- Utilities, energy, electricity, infrastructure, rail, or regulated industry experience.
- Experience working within consultancy environments.
- Exposure to digital product deployment or software implementation projects.
- Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience supporting HR, workforce, learning & development, or operational systems implementations.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with the right attitude as much as the right experience. The successful candidate will be personable, adaptable, and confident working with clients at all levels. You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, thrives in collaborative environments, and brings energy and enthusiasm to every engagement.
This role would suit a Business Analyst who enjoys variety, wants exposure to different clients and sectors, and is excited by the opportunity to help organisations successfully deliver change and digital transformation.
Please note: Applicants must be based in the Midlands and willing to travel to client sites across the region as required.
