I am currently recruiting for an experienced Project Accountant to join a fast paced global business during a period of change and transformation. You will come from Big Four background with at least 2 years industry experience. This role is crucial in providing support to the Financial Controller in completing the accounting and control for the UK/ Overseas entities. It will also include the compliance with statutory requirements, preparation of monthly financial reports, accounting records, variance analysis and ad hoc reporting.


Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting with completing the Balance sheet reconciliations monthly and taking certain General ledgers under control across UK/ Europe and group, ensuring schedules reconcile back to supporting documentation
  • Assist with the month end reporting and analytical reviews to understand the movement in balances
  • Be able to carry out investigation and analysis work on old balances within accounting system and in general
  • Able to conduct the general ledger postings each month for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts, costs, accruals, prepayments
  • To review and reconcile intercompany balances within European entities and with the wider group of entities and ensure they net to nil and balance each month
  • Able to be the bridge between offshore and onshore team, handling queries, overseeing accruals, prepayments, Fixed asset/Intangible schedules
  • Provide ongoing support to the Financial Controller – UK/ Europe and ensure that all compliance, month end and year end deadlines are adhered to
  • Overhaul and improve financial reporting, processes, and controls
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax professionals as required during the conduct of the audit process
  • To assist with the calculation, review and analysis of the ECL /bad debt provision each month and ensure the balance is reconciled to the aged debtors report
  • Delivering a high standard of communication and customer service to internal and external customers and colleagues
  • Able to assist in ad hoc projects such as VAT, year end audit requests, tax compliance, assisting with the analysis of the aged debtors and creditors reporting


Candidate specification:

  • Qualified Accountant from Big Four
  • 2-5 years accounting experience (including industry)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Focused on deliverables and deadlines
  • Ability to manage team members
  • Demonstrated effective written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage change in a positive manner
  • Self-motivated and well organised
  • Thorough, accurate and strong attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft skills
