Job Description

Senior Project Manager – Pre-Construction

THE OPPORTUNITY

The UK's energy transition is accelerating and IGP is at its leading edge. We're building the UK's most ambitious solar and battery storage NSIP portfolio, and we're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join us at a pivotal moment.

This is a rare chance to take true ownership of the pre-construction phase, from Ready-to-Build through to FID, on some of the most complex and consequential clean energy infrastructure projects in the country. If you're a project manager who thrives on complexity, wants real influence, and cares about the long-term success of what they deliver, this role was built for you.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

  • High-impact, high-visibility position at a critical inflection point in project delivery
  • Work across commercial, legal, grid, engineering, procurement and development functions with genuine cross-functional influence
  • Join a team that is setting the standard for how large-scale renewable infrastructure gets built in the UK
  • NSIP-scale projects: this is not business-as-usual solar – these are nationally significant infrastructure projects
  • Collaborative, high-performing culture with strong senior leadership support

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Reporting to the Head of Construction, you'll be the driving force behind project readiness, ensuring each project is commercially, technically, and contractually prepared to move into construction with confidence.

  • Lead project management from Ready-to-Build through to Notice to Proceed, working closely with the commercial team and Project Directors
  • Coordinate across development, grid, engineering, procurement, and asset management to hit gating milestones
  • Drive contractor selection and procurement programmes, including contract negotiation in partnership with procurement, commercial, and legal teams
  • Interface with DCO/real estate teams to ensure pre-construction programmes reflect all permitting and land requirements
  • Manage lenders' technical advisers and other third parties through the project finance process
  • Ensure construction phase requirements are embedded in project documentation from the outset

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7-10 years' experience in large-scale energy infrastructure development and construction in the UK across solar PV, BESS, or transmission
  • Proven project management credentials with a track record of implementing robust, process-driven management systems
  • Experience structuring EPC and multi-package contracting models; strong knowledge of NEC/FIDIC contract forms
  • Comfortable operating in project finance environments, where lender reporting and LTA interfaces are familiar territory
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with NSIP/DCO permitting regime and NGET interfaces is highly desirable

ABOUT IGP

IGP is on track to deliver the UK's leading solar and storage NSIP portfolio. We're a team that combines deep technical expertise with a genuine belief in what we're building, and we're at a stage where the right people can make a real difference. We're investing in a high-quality, high-performing operational team, and this role sits at the heart of that ambition.
