Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting! Are you an ambitious teaching assistant looking for a rewarding role in a primary school?
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school that require dedicated a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 pupils with Special Education Needs.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our team and provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other staff members to create an inclusive and engaging learning experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with specific learning needs in EYFS and KS2.
- Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting activities to suit the pupil's needs.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Support the social, emotional, and educational development of the pupils.
- Liaise with teachers, SENCo, and parents to ensure consistent progress.
- Assist with classroom activities, maintaining a calm and inclusive atmosphere.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children, ideally within EYFS or KS2.
- Has a good understanding of SEN and strategies to support learning.
- Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping children reach their potential.
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrates commitment to the Catholic ethos of our school (you do not need to be Catholic but should be supportive of our values).
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.

- Experience in a similar role
- An enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- A CV that must cover the last 10 years of employment history (where possible)
